Team Fortress 2 Android Theme for KLWP
Team Fortress 2 is a team-based multiplayer first-person shooter developed by Valve Software as part of the game bundle The Orange Box. Fun fact, the game was first announced in 1998 as a sequel to the original Team Fortress mod for Quake (a first-person shooter video game, developed by id Software), but has since been through various concept and design periods.
Decided to make this theme since I have a special place for Tf2 in my heart as it was a major factor for me to move to PC gaming and in turn, spark interest in technology in general.
How to apply this theme
Prerequisites
-
You need an Android device with Android 5.0 or newer.
-
You need Kustom Live Wallpaper (KLWP) Pro version. (Pro for you to import custom themes like this one. BETA to use the gif) Link.
-
You also need a 3rd party launcher like Nova Launcher. Free version will work. Link.
-
You may need a 3rd party browser, I use solid explorer. Although most modern phones have sufficient built in browsers.
How to import and set-up
-
Download the .klwp file from the resources section below.
-
Copy and paste it into your 'Kustom' folder on your android device. Paste it into :'MainStorage'/Kustom/wallpapers/ folder. If you don't see a folder just create one.
-
Open Nova Launcher, follow the on-screen prompts to prepare the homescreen for the theme.
-
Start Fresh.
-
Choose Light or Dark.
-
Choose dock icon to make it easy to access the drawer for now. We will remove this later.
-
Remove all elements on the homescreen pages by holding it and tapping remove.
-
Go to Nova settings: Look and Feel. Disable the notification bar.
-
Go to Home Screen and remove the page indicator. Keep the dock for now since we need it to access the app drawer. We will disable this later.
-
-
Launch KLWP.
-
Tap the top left hamburger to open the slide out menu.
-
Tap 'Load preset'.
-
Go to the 'Exported' tab and click on the theme to load it in KLWP.
-
Tap Save on top right corner.
-
Make sure to disable the dock in Nova Settings > Homescreen > Dock > Disable.
-
At this point there should have been a prompt to set default wallpaper as KLWP, for both homescreen and lockscreen. If you did not get one, go to the menu and set it as default. There might also be a prompt for location access. This is so that it can get the weather info.
-
After all changes have been made, make sure you save. And definitely export the file, since it will back it up on rather than just saving temporarily.
-
Go back to Nova and make sure to disable the dock!
-
DONE!
To change the images
-
Open KLWP.
-
Go to Globals tab to the right.
-
Scroll down.
-
Here you can see each class, and pick image. Please DO NOT CHANGE ANYTHING ELSE, or you might mess up the theme.
-
From here you can choose the image of your choice. Make sure the dimensions of your image are 560 x 812 pixels. Any larger or smaller image will mess up the positioning. This is very important.
-
DONE!
To change the applications
-
Open KLWP.
-
Scroll down on the main items tab.
-
Click First row, or Middle row, or Bottom row, depending on which apps you want to change.
-
Then tap "Change apps here", open the module, in this case 3Left, and change the text to what you prefer.
-
Now to assign the shortcut, tap on that app in the viewer, and you see this popup, hit edit. From here you can select your app.
-
Similarly, 1 Right, and 2Left and 2 Right are the 1st and middle row apps. You can see an overview of shortcuts in the shortcuts tab here. You can see we even have the settings and app drawer shortcuts here.
-
DONE!
Remarks
This theme is not perfect. (Hence not on play store). I do this as a hobby in my spare time. There might be a few issues depending on device. Most probably not. But I'll be happy to help.
This theme was made using a Galaxy Note 9. So it should be compatible with devices with similar screen ratio. That said, it should also work with most modern phones.
That should do it. If you have any troubleshooting questions feel free to contact me via the website, or Twitter and YouTube comments.

The images (and fonts) used in the theme are taken directly from the games wiki which you can find here. I have simply assembled the files to build this theme.
Thanks to KLWP and Nova Launcher for their applications.
Thanks to Valve for making an amazing game.
